Women's Literacy Course

We promote equal opportunities and empowerment of women within our company by offering literacy courses to illiterate women in the company to enable them to also have access to career development and opportunities on the job market. long term.

Six women from the Bio Almonds company have been receiving French literacy classes since 2019 in order to strengthen their capacity and allow them to access other responsibilities in the same way as men. Evening classes are given twice a week at the UNESCO literacy center in Ferkéssédougou. Women learn to read, write and calculate.

Why only women ?

It should be noted that in past decades, women did not have full access to education in the city of Ferkéssédougou. The education of men was a priority for questions of culture and financial means. This is why many women have not had the chance to go to school. In general, women are agricultural producers, stay-at-home mothers or traders in the local market. We find today women who wish to become employees in companies in order to be autonomous and we, Bio Amandes, want to be a company which offers this chance to these women by offering them work opportunities and we also care about their professional development.
